I t was not a good place to spend the winter. Most of those on the ship wanted to go on and try to get to Phoenix. Crete was a good place to tie up the ship. They wanted to spend the winter there.

E poiché quel porto non era adatto per svernare, i piú furono del parere di salpare di là per cercare di arrivare in qualche modo a Fenice, un porto di Creta, esposto al libeccio e al maestrale, e passarvi l'inverno.
