T he woman was not a Jew. She was from the country of Syrophenicia. She asked Jesus if He would put the demon out of her daughter.

لَمْ تَكُن المَرْاَةُ يَهودِيَّةً، بَلْ فينِيقِيَّةً مِنْ سُورِيّا. وَتَوَسَّلَتْ إلَيهِ لِيُخرِجَ الرُّوحَ الشِّرِّيرَ مِنَ ابْنَتِها.
