T he rulers who were before me made the people work very hard. They took bread and wine from them, besides forty pieces of silver. Even their servants ruled over the people. But I did not do so because of the fear of God.

En cambio, los primeros gobernadores que me antecedieron abrumaron al pueblo: les cobraban, por el pan y por el vino, más de cuarenta siclos de plata, y aun sus criados se enseñoreaban del pueblo. Pero yo no hice así, a causa del temor de Dios.
