T he sons of Levi, the heads of the family groups, were written down in the Book of the Chronicles until the days of Johanan the son of Eliashib.

وَكُتِبَتْ أسْماءُ رُؤَساءِ عائِلاتِ الَّلاوِيِّينَ فِي دَفْتَرِ السِّجِلّاتِ حَتَّى زَمَنِ يُوحانانَ بْنِ ألِياشِيبَ.
