T hese were the sons of Israel, the heads of fathers’ houses. They were the leaders of thousands and of hundreds. These were the captains who worked for the king in anything to do with the armies which came in and went out every month of the year. There were 24, 000 men in each army.

Y esta es la enumeración de los hijos de Israel, los jefes de casas paternas, los comandantes de miles y de cientos, y sus oficiales que servían al rey en todos los asuntos de las divisiones que entraban y salían, mes por mes durante todos los meses del año; cada división tenía veinticuatro mil.
