T hen David said to the man, “Tell Joab, ‘Do not let this thing trouble you. For the sword kills one as well as another. Make your battle against the city stronger and destroy it.’ Comfort him with these words.”

Allora Davide disse al messaggero: «Dirai così a Ioab: “Non affliggerti per ciò che è accaduto, perché la spada divora ora l’uno ora l’altro; rinforza l’attacco contro la città e distruggila”. E tu fagli coraggio».
