F or it was of the Lord to harden their hearts, that they should come against Israel in battle, that He might utterly destroy them, and that they might receive no mercy, but that He might destroy them, as the Lord had commanded Moses.

Und das alles geschah also von dem HERRN, daß ihr Herz verstockt würde, mit Streit zu begegnen den Kindern Israel, auf daß sie verbannt würden und ihnen keine Gnade widerführe, sondern vertilgt würden, wie der HERR dem Mose geboten hatte.
