F or it was of the Lord to harden their hearts, that they should come against Israel in battle, that He might utterly destroy them, and that they might receive no mercy, but that He might destroy them, as the Lord had commanded Moses.

Era infatti l'Eterno stesso che induriva il loro cuore perché facessero guerra contro Israele, affinché Israele li votasse allo sterminio senza usare alcuna pietà verso di loro, ma li annientasse come l'Eterno aveva comandato a Mosè.
