T hen the king’s countenance changed, and his thoughts troubled him, so that the joints of his hips were loosened and his knees knocked against each other.

Then the color and the hilarious brightness of the king’s face was changed, and his thoughts troubled and alarmed him; the joints and muscles of his hips and back gave way and his knees smote together.
