T hen Jeroboam built Shechem in the mountains of Ephraim, and dwelt there. Also he went out from there and built Penuel.

وَحَصَّنَ يَرُبْعامُ مَدِينَةِ شَكِيمَ الَّتِي فِي مِنْطَقَةِ أفْرايِمَ الجَبَلِيَّةِ، وَجَعَلَها مَقَرّاً لَهُ. ثُمَّ ذَهَبَ إلَى مَدِينَةِ فَنُوئِيلَ وَحَصَّنَها.
