e ntonces, le decían: “Di, pues, la palabra Shibolet.” Pero él decía: “Sibolet,” porque no podía pronunciarla correctamente. Entonces le echaban mano y lo mataban junto a los vados del Jordán. Y cayeron en aquella ocasión 42, 000 de los de Efraín.

then they would say to him, “Say now, ‘Shibboleth.’” But he said, “Sibboleth,” for he could not pronounce it correctly. Then they seized him and slew him at the fords of the Jordan. Thus there fell at that time 42, 000 of Ephraim.
