D esciende y siéntate en el polvo, Virgen hija de Babilonia. Siéntate en la tierra, sin trono, Hija de los Caldeos, Porque nunca más serás llamada tierna y delicada.

Come down, and sit in the dust, O Virgin Daughter of Babylon; sit on the ground; there is no throne for you, O Daughter of the Chaldeans, for you shall no longer be called dainty and delicate.
