J oás, rey de Israel, envió este mensaje a Amasías, rey de Judá: “El cardo que estaba en el Líbano, envió a decir al cedro que estaba en el Líbano: ‘Da a tu hija por mujer a mi hijo.’ Pero pasó una fiera que estaba en el Líbano, y pisoteó el cardo.

And Joash, king of Israel, sent to Amaziah, king of Judah, saying, The thistle that was in Lebanon sent to the cedar that was in Lebanon, saying, Give thy daughter to my son to wife. And behold, the wild beasts that were in Lebanon, passed by, and trode down the thistle.
