W hen the men of Ai turned back and looked, behold, the smoke of the city ascended to the sky, and they had no place to flee this way or that, for the people who had been fleeing to the wilderness turned against the pursuers.

Cuando los hombres de Hai se volvieron y miraron, vieron que el humo de la ciudad subía al cielo y no tenían lugar adónde huir, ni por un lado ni por el otro, porque el pueblo que iba huyendo hacia el desierto se volvió contra sus perseguidores.
