A nd when the men of Ai looked behind them, they saw, and, behold, the smoke of the city ascended up to heaven, and they had no power to flee this way or that way; and the people that were fleeing into the wilderness turned back upon their pursuers.

Cuando los hombres de Hai se volvieron y miraron, vieron que el humo de la ciudad subía al cielo y no tenían lugar adónde huir, ni por un lado ni por el otro, porque el pueblo que iba huyendo hacia el desierto se volvió contra sus perseguidores.
