F or though I caused you sorrow by my letter, I do not regret it; though I did regret it— for I see that that letter caused you sorrow, though only for a while—

Mesmo que a minha carta lhes tenha causado tristeza, não me arrependo. É verdade que a princípio me arrependi, pois percebi que a minha carta os entristeceu, ainda que por pouco tempo.
