S o Jesus said, “When you lift up the Son of Man, then you will know that I am He, and I do nothing on My own initiative, but I speak these things as the Father taught Me.

So Jesus added, When you have lifted up the Son of Man, you will realize (know, understand) that I am He and that I do nothing of Myself (of My own accord or on My own authority), but I say what My Father has taught Me.
