S o they said to one another, “ Let us not tear it, but cast lots for it, to decide whose it shall be”; this was to fulfill the Scripture: “ They divided My outer garments among them, and for My clothing they cast lots.”

“Não a rasguemos”, disseram uns aos outros. “Vamos decidir por sorteio quem ficará com ela.” Isso aconteceu para que se cumprisse a Escritura que diz: “Dividiram as minhas roupas entre si, e tiraram sortes pelas minhas vestes”. Foi o que os soldados fizeram.
