P ilate wondered if He was dead by this time, and summoning the centurion, he questioned him as to whether He was already dead.

وَاندَهَشَ بِيلاطُسُ مِنْ أنَّ يَسُوعَ قَدْ ماتَ بِهَذِهِ السُّرعَةِ. فَاسْتَدْعَى الضّابِطَ الرُّومانِيَّ المَسؤولَ، وَسَألَهُ إنْ كانَ يَسُوعُ قَدْ ماتَ مُنذُ فُترَةٍ طَويلَةٍ.
