T hen Baruch read from the book the words of Jeremiah in the house of the Lord in the chamber of Gemariah the son of Shaphan the scribe, in the upper court, at the entry of the New Gate of the Lord’s house, to all the people.

Baruc leyó entonces en la casa del Señor las palabras de Jeremías que estaban en el rollo de cuero. Lo hizo en presencia del pueblo, desde el aposento del escriba Gemarías hijo de Safán, que estaba en el atrio superior, a la entrada de la puerta nueva de la casa del Señor.
