T hen they went in to offer sacrifices and burnt offerings. Now Jehu had stationed for himself eighty men outside, and he had said, “ The one who permits any of the men whom I bring into your hands to escape shall give up his life in exchange.”

Quelli entrarono per offrire sacrifici e olocausti. Or Ieu teneva appostati fuori dal tempio ottanta uomini, ai quali aveva detto: «Colui che lascerà fuggire qualcuno degli uomini che io metto in vostro potere, pagherà con la sua vita la vita di quello».
