N a ka mea a Ihowa ki a ia, Ko te whenua tenei i oati ai ahau ki a Aperahama, ki a Ihaka, ki a Hakopa, i mea ai, Ka hoatu e ahau a reira ki ou uri: kua meinga koe e ahau kia kite a kanohi i reira, otiia e kore koe e whiti ki reira.

Then the Lord said to him, “This is the land which I swore to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, saying, ‘I will give it to your descendants’; I have let you see it with your eyes, but you shall not go over there.”
