H e nui hoki no te pouri, no te mamae o te ngakau, i tuhituhi atu ai ahau ki a koutou me nga roimata maha: ehara i te mea hei whakapouri i a koutou, engari kia matau ai koutou ki toku aroha e hira rawa nei ki a koutou.

For I wrote you out of great sorrow and deep distress of heart, with many tears, not to cause you pain but in order to make you realize the overflowing love that I continue increasingly to have for you.
