K ei te kapi hoki te whenua i te tangata puremu; kei te tangi hoki te whenua, he mea mo te kanga; kua maroke nga wahi kai o te koraha; a ko to ratou rerenga he kino, ko to ratou kaha, kahore i tika.

For the land is full of adulterers; for because of swearing the land mourns; the pastures of the wilderness are dried up. Their course is evil, and their might is not right;
