U nd da ich meinem Freund aufgetan hatte, war er weg und hingegangen. Meine Seele war außer sich, als er redete. Ich suchte ihn, aber ich fand ihn nicht; ich rief, aber er antwortete mir nicht.

Ho aperto all’amico mio, ma l’amico mio si era ritirato, era partito. Ero fuori di me mentre egli parlava! L’ho cercato, ma non l’ho trovato; l’ho chiamato, ma non mi ha risposto.
