u nd sprach: Das lasse mein Gott fern von mir sein, daß ich solches tue und trinke das Blut dieser Männer in ihres Lebens Gefahr; denn sie haben's mit ihres Lebens Gefahr hergebracht! Darum wollte er's nicht trinken. Das taten die drei Helden.

And he said, My God forbid it me, that I should do this thing! should I drink the blood of these men at the risk of their lives? for at the risk of their lives they brought it. Therefore he would not drink it. These things did the three mighty men.
