L e Philistin s'arrêta; et, s'adressant aux troupes d'Israël rangées en bataille, il leur cria: Pourquoi sortez-vous pour vous ranger en bataille? Ne suis-je pas le Philistin, et n'êtes-vous pas des esclaves de Saül? Choisissez un homme qui descende contre moi!

Goliath stood and shouted to the ranks of Israel, Why have you come out to draw up for battle? Am I not a Philistine, and are you not servants of Saul? Choose a man for yourselves and let him come down to me.
