S ihon, roi des Amoréens, qui habitait à Hesbon. Sa domination s'étendait depuis Aroër, qui est au bord du torrent de l'Arnon, et, depuis le milieu du torrent, sur la moitié de Galaad, jusqu'au torrent de Jabbok, frontière des enfants d'Ammon;

Sihon king of the Amorites, who dwelt in Heshbon, and ruled from Aroer on the edge of the Valley of the Arnon, and from the middle of the valley as far as the river Jabbok, the boundary of the Ammonites, including half of Gilead;
