C ar Israël s'était détaché de la maison de David, et ils avaient fait roi Jéroboam, fils de Nebath, qui les avait détournés de l'Éternel, et avait fait commettre à Israël un grand péché.

For Israel had rent from the house of David; and they had made Jeroboam the son of Nebat king; and Jeroboam violently turned Israel from following Jehovah, and made them sin a great sin.
