C osì essi si radunarono a Mitspah, attinsero acqua e la versarono davanti all'Eterno; quindi in quel giorno digiunarono e là dissero: «Abbiamo peccato contro l'Eterno». Samuele giudicò i figli d'Israele a Mitspah.

They gathered to Mizpah, and drew water and poured it out before the Lord, and fasted on that day and said there, “ We have sinned against the Lord.” And Samuel judged the sons of Israel at Mizpah.
