Q uando Saul aveva visto Davide uscire contro il Filisteo, aveva chiesto ad Abner, capo dell'esercito: «Abner di chi è figlio questo giovane?». Abner rispose: «Com'è vero che tu vivi, o re, non lo so».

When Saul saw David going out against the Philistine, he said to Abner the head of his army, “Abner, whose son is this young man?” And Abner said, “By your life, O king, I do not know.”
