Q ueste sono le nazioni che l'Eterno lasciò allo scopo di mettere per mezzo loro alla prova Israele, cioè tutti quelli che non avevano conosciuto le guerre di Canaan:

Now these are the nations which the Lord left, that He might test Israel by them, that is, all who had not known any of the wars in Canaan
