E stas são as nações que o Senhor deixou ficar para, por meio delas, provar a Israel, a todos os que não haviam experimentado nenhuma das guerras de Canaã;

Now these are the nations which the Lord left, that He might test Israel by them, that is, all who had not known any of the wars in Canaan
