M a Daniele decise in cuor suo di non contaminarsi con i cibi squisiti del re e con il vino che egli stesso beveva; e chiese al capo degli eunuchi di concedergli di non contaminarsi.

But Daniel determined in his heart that he would not defile himself by the king’s rich and dainty food or by the wine which he drank; therefore he requested of the chief of the eunuchs that he might not to defile himself.
