P erciò chiamò quel luogo Massa e Meriba a motivo della contesa dei figli d'Israele, e perché avevano tentato l'Eterno, dicendo: «E' l'Eterno in mezzo a noi, o no?».

He called the place Massah and Meribah because of the faultfinding of the Israelites and because they tempted and tried the patience of the Lord, saying, Is the Lord among us or not?
