Q uindi lo lesse sulla piazza che sta davanti alla porta delle Acque, dallo spuntar del giorno fino a mezzogiorno, davanti agli uomini, alle donne e a quelli capaci di intendere; e le orecchie di tutto il popolo stavano attente al libro della legge.

And he read in the book before the plaza that was before the water gate from the morning until midday, before the men and the women, and those that could understand; and the ears of all the people were attentive unto the book of the law.
