A nche da Manasse alcuni passarono a Davide, quando questi andò con i Filistei a combattere contro Saul; ma essi non furono di alcun aiuto ai Filistei, perché i principi dei Filistei, dopo essersi consultati, rimandarono Davide, dicendo: «Egli passerebbe dalla parte del suo signore Saul a prezzo delle nostre teste».

And some of Manasseh passed over to David, when he came with the Philistines against Saul to battle, although they did not help them, for the cardinals of the Philistines, upon counsel, sent him away, saying, He will pass over to his master Saul with our heads.
