P oi Elia gli disse: «Eliseo, fermati qui, ti prego, perché l'Eterno mi manda a Gerico». Egli rispose: «Come è vero che l'Eterno vive e che tu stesso vivi, io non ti lascerò». Cosí discesero a Gerico.

Elijah said to him, “Elisha, please stay here, for the Lord has sent me to Jericho.” But he said, “ As the Lord lives, and as you yourself live, I will not leave you.” So they came to Jericho.
