N ell'arca non c'era nient'altro che le due tavole di pietra che Mosè vi aveva deposto al monte Horeb, quando l'Eterno fece un patto con i figli d'Israele, dopo che questi erano usciti dal paese d'Egitto.

There was nothing in the ark except the two tables of stone, which Moses put there at Horeb, when the LORD cut a covenant with the sons of Israel, when they came out of the land of Egypt.
