A llora Davide disse a tutti i suoi servi che erano con lui a Gerusalemme: «Levatevi e fuggiamo; altrimenti nessuno di noi scamperà dalle mani di Absalom. Affrettatevi a partire affinché non ci sorprenda improvvisamente e faccia cadere su di noi la rovina, e non colpisca la città passandola a fil di spada».

David said to all his servants who were with him at Jerusalem, “ Arise and let us flee, for otherwise none of us will escape from Absalom. Go in haste, or he will overtake us quickly and bring down calamity on us and strike the city with the edge of the sword.”
