Deuteronomy 9:18 ~ 申 命 記 9:18

A nd I fell down before the Lord, as at the first, forty days and forty nights: I did neither eat bread, nor drink water, because of all your sins which ye sinned, in doing wickedly in the sight of the Lord, to provoke him to anger.

因 你 們 所 犯 的 一 切 罪 ， 行 了 耶 和 華 眼 中 看 為 惡 的 事 ， 惹 他 發 怒 ， 我 就 像 從 前 俯 伏 在 耶 和 華 面 前 四 十 晝 夜 ， 沒 有 吃 飯 ， 也 沒 有 喝 水 。
