L est there should be among you man, or woman, or family, or tribe, whose heart turneth away this day from the Lord our God, to go and serve the gods of these nations; lest there should be among you a root that beareth gall and wormwood;

Să nu existe printre voi nici un bărbat sau femeie, nici un clan şi nici o seminţie a căror inimă să se întoarcă astăzi de la Domnul, Dumnezeul nostru, ducându-se să slujească zeilor acestor neamuri. Să nu existe printre voi nici o rădăcină care produce otravă sau amărăciune.
