1 Kings 20:31 ~ 1 Re 20:31

A nd his servants said unto him, Behold now, we have heard that the kings of the house of Israel are merciful kings: let us, I pray thee, put sackcloth on our loins, and ropes upon our heads, and go out to the king of Israel: peradventure he will save thy life.

I suoi servitori gli dissero: «Abbiamo sentito dire che i re della casa d’Israele sono dei re clementi; lascia dunque che ci mettiamo dei sacchi sui fianchi e delle corde al collo e usciamo incontro al re d’Israele; forse egli ti salverà la vita».
