A nd Eliab, his eldest brother, heard when he spoke unto the men, and Eliab’s anger was kindled against David, and he said, Why didst thou come down here? And with whom hast thou left those few sheep in the wilderness? I know thy pride and the malice of thy heart, for thou art come down that thou might see the battle.

Eliab, suo fratello maggiore, avendo udito Davide parlare a quella gente, si accese d’ira contro di lui e disse: «Perché sei sceso qua? A chi hai lasciato quelle poche pecore nel deserto? Io conosco il tuo orgoglio e la malignità del tuo cuore; tu sei sceso qua per vedere la battaglia».
