A nd the first went and poured out his vial upon the earth; and an evil and grievous sore fell upon the men who had the mark of the beast and upon those who worshipped its image.

So the first went and emptied his bowl on the earth, and foul and painful ulcers (sores) came on the people who were marked with the stamp of the beast and who did homage to his image.
