a nd let the king appoint officers in all the provinces of his kingdom that they may gather together all the fair young virgins unto Shushan, the palace, to the house of the women, unto the custody of Hege, the king’s eunuch, keeper of the women; and let them be given that which is necessary for their purification;

Împăratul să numească responsabili în fiecare din provinciile împărăţiei ca să adune toate fecioarele frumoase la înfăţişare în citadela Susei, în harem, sub supravegherea lui Hegai, eunucul împăratului care supraveghează femeile şi le asigură lucrurile pentru înfrumuseţare.
