B ut Jehoshabeath, the daughter of the king, took Joash, the son of Ahaziah, and stole him from among the king’s sons that were being slain, and kept him and his nurse in the bedchamber. So Jehoshabeath, the daughter of king Jehoram, the wife of Jehoiada, the priest (for she was the sister of Ahaziah) hid him from Athaliah, so that she slew him not.

Pero Josabet, hija del rey, tomó a Joás hijo de Ocozías, y escondiéndolo de entre los demás hijos del rey, a los cuales mataban, lo guardó a él y a su nodriza en uno de los aposentos. Así lo escondió Josabet, hija del rey Joram, mujer del sacerdote Joiada (porque ella era hermana de Ocozías), de la vista de Atalía, y no lo mataron.
