S o the king did not hearken unto the people, for the cause was of God, that the LORD might perform his word, which he spoke by the hand of Ahijah, the Shilonite, unto Jeroboam, the son of Nebat.

Cosí il re non diede ascolto al popolo, perché l'andamento delle cose dipendeva da DIO, affinché l'Eterno portasse a compimento la sua parola, che aveva rivolto a Geroboamo, figlio di Nebat, per mezzo di Ahijah di Sciloh.
