A nd some of Manasseh passed over to David, when he came with the Philistines against Saul to battle, although they did not help them, for the cardinals of the Philistines, upon counsel, sent him away, saying, He will pass over to his master Saul with our heads.

Şi dintre manasiţi au trecut de partea lui David, atunci când el i-a însoţit pe filisteni la luptă împotriva lui Saul. Ei însă nu le-au fost de ajutor filistenilor, fiindcă domnitorii acestora au hotărât să-l trimită înapoi pe David, zicând: „Vom plăti cu capetele noastre dacă va trece de partea lui Saul, stăpânul lui!“
