O f Manasseh also there fell away some to David, when he came with the Philistines against Saul to battle: but they helped them not; for the lords of the Philistines upon advisement sent him away, saying, He will fall away to his master Saul to the jeopardy of our heads.

Şi dintre manasiţi au trecut de partea lui David, atunci când el i-a însoţit pe filisteni la luptă împotriva lui Saul. Ei însă nu le-au fost de ajutor filistenilor, fiindcă domnitorii acestora au hotărât să-l trimită înapoi pe David, zicând: „Vom plăti cu capetele noastre dacă va trece de partea lui Saul, stăpânul lui!“
